Razor Shell Socks

This simple pattern was designed to showcase variegated yarns. The razor shell pattern in the cuff breaks up the stripes, pools and flashes that would normally appear in a handpainted variegated yarn.


Yarn: 2 50g skeins of any sock weight yarn. The purple and green sock was knit with KnitPicks Sock Landscapes in Spring Prarie and the pink and yellow one was knit with KnitPicks Sock Garden in Star Gazer Lilly
Needles: Set of 5 US Size 1.5 (2.5mm) double points
Notions: tapestry needle for weaving in ends.
Gauge: 8.5 stitches per inch in stockinette stitch.
Finished Size: Cuff is 3.75" (9.5 cm) across unstretched, as written, cuff is about 5" (12.7cm) long, but can be easily adjustable, length of foot is also adjustable, but proportions are written for a medium sized ladies foot.
