Yarn Requirements: Renaissance Dyeing Crewel Wool:
1 - 250m skein of color 1442
1 - 250m skein of color 0901
2 - 25 m skeins of color 1003, and
1 - 25 m skein each of colors: 1610, 1007, 1005, 1505, 1619, 1009, 1701, 1704, 1908, 1006, 1511, 1909, 1621, 1608, 1008, 1004, 1907, 1609.
The listed yarn is used double throughout this pattern, so a thicker, or fingering weight yarn could be substituted. It could also be knit with scraps of other yarns that you happen to have on hand. or with lengths of handspun. The nature of the scarf means that it would be easy to remove repeats and/or knit it at a different gauge.

Needles: US 4 (3.5mm) 32" circular.
Gauge: 5 spi after blocking.
I wanted to make something that even beginning knitters could do, but something with some sort of lace. So I did a simple eyelet pattern that evokes winding streams and river deltas. The pattern takes advantage of the broad range of shades and tonality that Andie's line of naturally dyed wools have, and the back (not pictured) is just as beautiful as the front, making this scarf truly reversible.
