Logan River Wrap

Hey all, remember the secret tweedy project?

It’s up in the Winter 2007 Interweave Knits Preview. It’s the Logan River Wrap knit in Queensland Collection Kathmandu Aran.

The design features cables, twisted stitches and a winding drop stitch pattern. As well as a self-scalloping cabled edge with short-row mitered corners that make the edging one continuous cable around the wrap.

It’s named for the Logan River, which cuts through Logan Canyon, where I used to live. The mountains are magnificent and the river carves out a space through the bottom of the canyon.

Mine and C’s first date was hiking in that canyon. I spent many happy weekends drenched in campfire smoke, eating half-cooked potatoes from tin foil, and sleeping with a rock in my hip.

Good job…it’s beautiful!

Congrats on another publication! It’s gorgeous!

Wow! That’s the only thing I liked out of the preview. Bravo!

That’s really lovely. I look forward to getting that issue of IK!

Love it! I think this will be my first project from the new IK – I even have appropriate tweed in the stash :)

It looks great – they did a nice job of photographing it so that you could see the stitches and all of the tweedy colors.

OH! I love that mix of cables and dropped stitches, especially in the tweed — unexpected but not gimmicky. That’s on my list for sure!

Oooh, I love it! I had no idea you had another one coming!

Yup. Love that one too. :)

It is really beautiful!

Oh, I say, well done! Congratulations on your design being featured in the mag!

As always, a lovely job of it. Can’t wait to get my issue and see it full size in all its glory…

Blessings!

Very nice combination of stitch and yarn. This may convince me to try that drop stitch again. Beautiful!

Love the wrap! Sounds like some nice memories, too. Except maybe for the rock.

Congrats, Miriam. It’s a beautiful wrap in one of my favorite yarns too. The Kathmandu Aran is so snuggly! Interesting to read about the inspiration for the project too.

I love the wrap, I can’t wait for IK to get here!

PS I am knitting Seraphim as a Christmas present for a friend, it is looking good so far, I hope you don’t mind but I’m adding some beads.

Dropping in to say that my husband is from Logan and I somehow missed the Logan River wrap in the IK preview, but I have also many fond memories of hanging out in Logan Canyon, so that will have to be on my knitting agenda.

And it sounds like cool knitting, too.

Cool! I never got to see it when you were working on it!

It’s awesome!

it’s beautiful! yay! :)

As soon as I saw the IK Winter preview, I came straight here to congratulate you on another gorgeous knit and pattern! It is lovely, and I know I will be adding it to my queue. Way to go, Mim!!!

Love the wrap! It is my favorite piece in the preview! Is there any way you can tell the colorway that is shown? It looks either rust or brown; I just can’t tell by my monitor. Thanks!

You know I just saw the Juno Regina pattern and looked you up on Ravelry because I was so so SO in love with Juno Regina…and I am now realizing you are responsible for almost every pattern I have loved in the last couple of years…Logan River included! This was the only pattern I liked out of this issue!
