I think I’m in love…

I’m not sure which I’m more in love with, the Zephyros Shawl, or my new camera!

You can see the whole flickr set here.

When I’ve struggled with a project I always get a little pissed off at it by the end. I’m less than pleased until I look at it through the lens of a camera and then suddenly it’s more beautiful than I ever imagined. I guess I need that distance and that separation, but whatever it is and whatever kind of neurosis I deal with, it’s a pretty beautiful shawl.

Some things I really love about it:

The short row corners (squee!)
The way the borders across the top face the same direction (upward) when you drape the two sides down the front over your shoulders
The continuous line of stacked yarn overs and how their twee bits of yarn just twist around each other.
The sunburst of rays at the back of the neck.
The way the border points across the top lay across your neck, pointing upward.

*happy sigh*

Wauw, that is beautiful… Really, really beautiful. The details are amazing. I’d love to knit that.

So are you going to offer the pattern? (wiping up drool)

Added by Mim: Yes, this is the Zephyros shawl for the Wooly Wonka Fibers Change of Seasons shawl club, which is sold out, but the pattern will be available in early April on it’s own.

A beautiful work of art – congratulations!

It’s BEAUTIFUL!!!

Beautiful! Both the shawl and the pictures. Something to look forward to in April :)

Oh, you have outdone yourself. I can’t wait to get to it.

Which camera did you get?

Oh my goodness, that is incredible! Lucky me, I signed up for the Seasons club early-on and can’t wait to get this kit.

Which camera did you end up getting? Maybe I missed the post, will go back and search.

It looks wonderful!! I enjoyed the short rows on the Logan River Wrap and I’m excited for this one! Fantastic job, as always :)

That’s fantastic!! I just want to reach thru my monitor and touch it…. Lovely!

It is gorgeous! I love the edging and how it flows like to the side. I ike it. What camera did you get?

I can’t wait! You do such beautiful work and put so much thought into the process. Your ability amazes me with every project!

Flickr will tell you what kind of camera an image was taken with. Go to this link and look on the lower right:

Love the shawl, M.

Um, wow. Do you sleep woman?? Can’t wait until April!

Oooh! It’s gorgeous, as usual. I know it’s hard not to see the struggle in our own work but it really is beautiful.

Love the border and the sunburst!

Eureka! I’ve found a shawl I want to make.

Gorgeous gorgeous gorgeous… did I say gorgeous yet??? I can’t wait for the pattern to be available :)

BTW… there’s another gorgeous thing in the pictures… your earrings!!! Would you mind sharing where you got them??

Cheers Eva

I joined the club because of you and now I’m so glad that I did. I’ll be stalking the mailman next week!

Wowww, look at you with the new camera. Beautiful, beautiful photos! I’m so glad you got it! (And the project is beyond beautiful, too!)

It’s gorgeous, Mim. Just gorgeous. Love the images from that new camera of yours, too. :-)

So pretty :-) I’m really looking forward to the pattern and seeing even more of your lovely finished shawl!

I am so happy I joined this club. This is just one gorgeous shawl–I love all of the original touches and your design aesthetic which is very modern.

Mmmmm…knitting porn….drool…

It’s nice to know you’ve come to terms with it–it’s lovely, of course.

I don’t think I’ll be able to resist this one when it is available! It is so gorgeous, especially the way the yo’s pile up and twist. I could do a whole scarf of those! Or is that even possible?

I absolutely adored it. I like how the pointy edges make a nice frame down the front too.

Wait, what camera did you get!? You can’t leave out that not-so-minor detail!!! Love the shawl.

Wait, I’m checking your Flickr…. Let me see here…
Oh, Mim, I’m SOOO happy you got a Canon. :) You will so love it.

Wow! Two gorgeous patterns in a row! :)

Unbelievably gorgeous, Mim! What’s the yardage? (So I can start plotting, of course…. ;) )

Added by Mim: The kit is coming with 1000 yards, but the yarn is a bit heavier than most laceweight. I think the company calls it light fingering.

Now, I am SOOO excited that I signed up for Anne’s lace club early:) I love the short row corners, and that type of border has become one of my favorite parts of knitting a shawl… plus the drape looks fabulous.

Yay! Can’t wait!
